Firing the Future: Our Electric Furnace Revolution
At Sigma, we invest in clean energy, innovate boldly, and cut emissions—not corners. Can the same be said for every supplier in your portfolio?

A Message from Sigma Group
Four months ago, we shared an exciting milestone—the commissioning of our electric furnace in Plovdiv. Today, we’re proud to say: it’s not just running—it’s transforming the way we do business.
This project isn’t only about technology. It’s a statement. A commitment. A challenge to do better—for the planet, for our partners, and for the industry. At Sigma, we didn’t wait for sustainability to become mandatory. We made it possible—and proved the skeptics wrong.
Industry Insight: A Bold Step, A Proven Path
When we began designing an electric furnace capable of reaching 1750°C—without compromising refractory performance—many said it couldn’t be done. But we believed. And today, it’s running smoothly, delivering superior product quality thanks to precise firing conditions.
Here’s what we’ve achieved so far:
- CO₂ Emissions Slashed: Thanks to integration with our photovoltaic system, emissions at our Plovdiv site have dropped dramatically.
- Enhanced Product Precision: Consistent, controlled heat has led to even greater dimensional accuracy and performance across our refractory lines.
- Energy Synergy: Clean energy from the sun is powering the heart of our production, pushing our environmental footprint close to zero.
Sustainability in Action, Not Just in Words
Across both our facilities, Sigma now generates nearly 1 million kWh annually through solar power—saving over 480 tons of CO₂ each year. From high-efficiency motors to advanced control systems and smart factory upgrades, we’re optimizing every watt we consume.
But sustainability isn’t just about internal transformation. It’s about setting a benchmark for the industry.
What This Means for You
If your company is working toward reducing Scope 3 emissions or looking to source more responsibly, this matters.
Our products now carry a significantly lower embedded carbon footprint—without sacrificing the quality, performance, or reliability that your operations depend on. That means your sustainability journey can begin right at the sourcing stage.
When price alone drives purchasing decisions, sustainability often pays the price. At Sigma, we’ve shown it’s possible to deliver high-performance products and do it responsibly.
Do your suppliers reflect your values—or just your budget?
It’s time to choose partnerships that advance both performance and purpose.
Let’s shape a better future—together.
